We will be working back and forth on two large projects: An Arduino Jacket with programmed LED lights and a couple of home made drones with different functions and sensors.
The Arduino jacket will be programmed with tons of different synchronized patterns that coordinate with the different LED strips. The LEDs are able to change colors and be controlled individually, so the patterns will take advantage of the LEDs abilities. We will also be programming in an animated Hooty the Owl that will be synchronized with speakers on the jackets shoulders so that it will appear to talk with various things Hooty says in the TV he is from.
The drones will be built from simple to complex. The first drone will be using K’Nex as a chassis in order to be cheaper and easier to repair should it crash. The next drones will get progressively more complex and have additional sensors and programming required. Eventually we will be focusing on the programming specifically and programming a drone to use sensors and pre-planned routes to act as a guard drone and to run various other pre-setup routines.
